Jean Griffith Fellowship

We established the Jean Griffith Fellowship to honor Jean's many years of service to Pottery Northwest and to the Seattle arts community. At the same time it is a way in which we can continue to enrich the arts community by hosting a nationally recognized artist here at Pottery Northwest. We want them to make Pottery Northwest their home studio for the time it takes to create a body of work. We will make opportunities for you to interact with that artist, hear them speak, see the work develop, perhaps even sponsor a collaboration. You can help us make this fellowship program and tribute to Jean Griffith an enduring reality. Send a contribution to Pottery Northwest and designate it "Fellowship."

We are pleased and excited to announce that our board of directors has begun a campaign to permanently endow the Jean Griffith Fellowshop.

Our Fellowship artist for 2006 was Beth Cavener Stichter. Follow these links for information on Beth's New York Show:
first the exhibit and then the New York Times review.

Beth's work is also included in the 2007 Renwick Craft Invitational at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. On view through July 22, 2007

We greet the new year with great anticipation as Josh DeWeese joins us as our 2008 Jean Griffith Fellowship Artist. Josh will be working in the studio in January and culminating his stay with a show of his work in our gallery, opening January 26. Follow these links for additional information Josh's work.
