Programs Supported
Funds raised at the Salad Bowl will support several important programs at Pottery Northwest.
Artists’ Residencies:
Artists from throughout the world come to Pottery Northwest to develop their artistic practice and portfolio. Funds defray studio costs for some and help with materials and exhibition costs for others.
Going GREENER:
Acquiring a new energy-efficient kiln to fire larger scale work created by resident and visiting artists.
Underwriting professional artists’ projects:
Regional artists successful in other media can ‘cross over the bridge’ and (with studio assistance) create projects in ceramic materials and processes. Recent artists include sculptor John Grade and glass magic workers, the de la Torre brothers.

Salad Bowl 2009 at Pottery Northwest
Every summer we hold this fabulous fundraiser for Pottery Northwest. Last year, we had an open studio with work on display by the resident artists, a show of Tammie Rubin’s work in the gallery, a demonstration by Beth Cavener Stichter among others, and much more. In addition, some of Seattle’s favorite artists painted serving pieces which event sponsors were able to take home after the Turkish raffle.
