My work is sculptural, primarily in clay, but often incorporating wooden, metal or plastic parts. The current pieces of sticks and branches reflect a sense of enduring this period of entropic change. Things torn apart outnumbering things built up. A time where solace comes in finding something worth keeping in the wreckage. Each piece has its own history and story to tell. It is important that the work be able to speak for itself. It needs to be well made, at least interesting enough to say a few words to a viewer, and attractive enough to be mistaken for decoration. |
